Accept bank payments (ACH / eCheck)
Lets clients pay from a bank account instead of a card. Bank payments take 3–5 business days to clear, and can be returned after that if the account has insufficient funds — the invoice reopens if that happens.
Pay-to-unlock documents
Require payment before a client can view or download a gated document.
Holding a completed tax return for payment is restricted in some states, and the rules differ between your firm's work product and a client's own records. The e-file authorization (Form 8879/8878) must be signable before you transmit and is never gated by LedgerOS.
Switch to CPACharge?
New invoices will be collected through CPACharge.
23 clients are enrolled in autopay through Stripe.
Saved cards cannot be moved between payment processors — the card details live with the processor, not with LedgerOS.
What should happen to those clients?
Keep billing them through Stripe Nothing breaksTheir invoices keep being issued and auto-charged on the card they already saved. They move to CPACharge on their own, whenever they re-enter a card there. You'll be running both processors until they do — two dashboards, two deposit schedules, two fee structures. Keep Stripe connected.
Move everyone to CPACharge nowOne processor, one set of books. But their autopay is cancelled — their saved card cannot move, so each of them has to set autopay up again on CPACharge before anything is auto-charged. Invoices already issued still charge on the old cards.
