Send physical mail
Write a letter, pick your recipients, and have it printed and posted without leaving your desk.
Some things still have to go in an envelope. The Mail Center writes, prints, and posts them, so nobody at your firm is standing at a printer feeding letterhead.
Where to find it
Write the letter
- Start a new mailing and choose Compose, or start from a Letter template.
- Pick a letterhead, or choose No letterhead.
- Write the Body.
- Choose your Recipients.
- Review and send.
The Live preview — as it will print panel shows the actual page. Use it. A letter that looks fine in the editor and breaks across a page badly in print is the sort of thing you only discover after four hundred copies have gone out.
Recipients
Send to one client, a selection, or All active clients.
Addresses come from the client record. A client with no mailing address can't be mailed, and you'll see that at review rather than after sending.
Delivery classes
Three options:
- First-class — ordinary post. Right for almost everything.
- Certified — tracked and signed for. Use it when you need to prove it was delivered.
- Certified + return receipt — certified plus a returned confirmation of receipt.
Certified costs more per piece and takes longer. Use it for things where proof of delivery matters — a disengagement letter, a notice response, anything with a legal edge — not for a season greeting.
Review before it goes
A mailing stages for review before it's sent. This is the last point at which anything can be changed.
Check the address block on a sample, check the page breaks, and check the count. Physical mail has no recall.
Tracking
Sent mailings show their status as they move through printing and delivery. Certified pieces carry tracking.
Notes and limits
- Mail goes to the address on the client record. Fix the record, not the letter.
- Held or failed pieces are never charged.
- A cancelled piece is refunded automatically.
- Standard class isn't offered, because it can't be priced reliably and would be refused at send.
