Letterhead and letter templates

Set up your firm letterhead once so every letter looks like it came from you.

Letterhead is set up once and applied to everything after. Do it before your first real mailing.

Where to find it

Build it

Give it a Letterhead name, then set:

  • Accent colour
  • Body font
  • Content margins
  • Footer disclaimer — where your firm needs standard wording on every letter

Generate from brand builds a starting point from your firm's existing branding, which is usually faster than starting empty.

The Live preview · US Letter panel shows a realistic letter as it will print, with a sample name and address in place.

Mark one as Use as the firm default letterhead and every new letter starts with it.

Margins matter more than they look

Content margins are the setting people set wrong and then live with. Too narrow and the letter reads as cramped and self-printed. Too wide and a two-page letter becomes three, which costs postage on every piece in every run.

Set them, then preview a genuinely long letter rather than a two-line one.

Letter templates

Mail CenterTemplates

A template is a letter you send repeatedly — an annual renewal notice, a records request, a fee change. Write it once with merge fields for the client-specific parts.

The test for whether something should be a template is simple: if you'll send it more than twice, it's a template.

Notes and limits

  • A letter can be sent with No letterhead where plain paper is wanted.
  • Changing the default letterhead doesn't retroactively change letters already sent.
  • The footer disclaimer applies to every letter using that letterhead.
  • Preview renders at US Letter size.
