Saved views
Save a filter once so you do not rebuild it every morning — as a personal tab or one the whole firm sees.
A saved view is a filter, a layout, and a sort, kept as a named tab. My NYC tasks, Everything waiting on a client, Marcus's review queue.
If you find yourself applying the same three filters every morning, that's a view.
Where to find it
Create a view
- Click New view.
- Give it a name under Give the view a name — for example, My NYC Tasks.
- Choose Who can see this view.
- Set the Filters under Where.
- Choose a Layout and optionally a Group by.
- Set the sort.
- Click Save view.
Who can see it
Two options:
- Personal — a tab only you see. The description says exactly that: a personal tab only you see.
- Firm — shared with everyone.
Personal is the right default. Make a view firm-wide when it's a view of the firm's work rather than of yours — a review queue everyone should be watching, not your own to-do list.
Layout
List or Board.
Board is the kanban layout, and it needs a pipeline — a board is a set of status columns, and statuses belong to a pipeline. If you pick Board without choosing one you'll be told the board layout needs a pipeline.
List works across pipelines, which makes it the right choice for anything cutting across service lines.
Group by
Optional. Group rows by Status, Assignee, Office, or Pipeline — or None for a flat list.
Grouping by assignee on a firm-wide view is the fastest way to see workload distribution without building a report.
Sort
Sort ascending or descending on your chosen field, labelled Earliest / A–Z and Latest / Z–A so the direction means something for both dates and text.
Editing and deleting
Open a view and choose Edit view to change any of it. Views can also be deleted from there. Editing a firm-wide view changes it for everyone.
Notes and limits
- Views save a filter, not a result. They re-run every time, so they stay current.
- A firm view has no owner — anyone who can see it can edit it.
- Switching a view from personal to firm makes it immediately visible to everyone.
- Views are per app area. A task view doesn't carry over to another list.
